The St. Marys Community Concert Band will perform on November 4 at 7 pm. It will be a celebration of the 25th Year of the Band, which had its first season in 1999 under the leadership of the late William F. “Bill” Duer, who was the founding director. Since that time the band’s roster has increased to 103 members from all over the Mid-Ohio Valley and they play a variety of traditional marches, concert and contest collections, modern hits, jazz, classical, and Broadway music. The concert will be hosted by St. Marys High School in the Auditorium. Concerts are free, but donations will be accepted and given to the SMHS Band programs. The band is sponsored by the City of St. Marys, grants, and private donations. The current directors include David Burton, Rockland Wiseman, and R. Wayne Smith.
