This beginner’s Atelier style course will focus on traditional drawing techniques, fundamental skill building, and Classical subject matter. A thorough overview of materials handling will be followed by exercises that will develop both an artist’s eye and hand. Lessons will include mark-making, perspective, shading and proportion. Students will work outside of class from historical master works. Peter will send you a supply list once you have registered.
Peter has a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts and after college went on to study at Studio Escalier in France and Grand Central Atelier in New York. His work has won awards, been published, and shown in galleries across the nation. He has experience teaching college art classes, community art centers and studio-schools. This class will meet Wednesdays from 6:00-9:00 p.m. for 8 weeks, March 10 – April 28.
