Cruisin’ Through History

From Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5, explore the rich history
of the Mid-Ohio Valley through the “Cruisin’ Through History” event.

“Cruisin’ Through History” is an upcoming automotive historical
tourism event where participants will receive sets of clues to find
historic sites in Jackson, Meigs, Mason and Wood counties. Points
will be scored when participants find a clue and send a photo of themselves
by the historic site to the event scoring committee. The event will begin
at the Riverfront Park in Ravenswood at 5 P.M. on May 3rd.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the history of our great
region while supporting cities and local businesses in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Friday, May 3

5-6:30 p.m. Arrive at Ravenswood Riverfront Park

• Museum/Cabin Tour
• Greeting
• Rules

The following day, participants will look for clues in Ripley, Ravenswood and Parkersburg.

Saturday, May 4

8 – 8:30 a.m. Breakfast at Holiday Inn Express in Ripley

• Participants will get first set of clues during breakfast

8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Ripley Scavenger Hunt

11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Travel from Ripley to Ravenswood

12 – 12:45 p.m. Lunch at the Dawg Pound in Ravenswood

12:45 – 2:30 p.m. Ravenswood Scavenger Hunt. Receive the next set of clues for Parkersburg

2:35 – 3:15 p.m. Travel from Ravenswood to Parkersburg

3:15 – 5:30 p.m. Belleville Locks and Dam and Fort Boreman clues and scenic shots.

Dinner and Hotel in Parkersburg

On the last day, participants will receive their clues in Parkersburg and continue the hunt in Pomeroy, Middleport and Point Pleasant.

Sunday, May 5

7:30 – 8:15 a.m. Breakfast in Parkersburg. Clues distributed.

8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Parkersburg Scavenger Hunt

12 – 12:45 p.m. Lunch in Parkersburg. Last set of clues distributed.

12:45 – 2 p.m. Travel from Parkersburg to Point Pleasant

2 – 5:15 p.m. Scavenger Hunt in Point Pleasant

5:15 p.m. Awards Ceremony at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park in Point Pleasant
