Besides its beautiful island Mansion, what was the Blennerhassett Estate really like? During this tour of the grounds, participants will learn what gardens and other period buildings existed as a part of the Blennerhassett Estate in 1806 based on historical findings. This program begins with a first-person presentation by “Mr. Peter Taylor,” the Blennerhassett English gardener.
The Estate’s Pleasure Garden was 2 1/3 acres in size. What did it include? Details and features of this Pleasure Garden as well as the Kitchen Garden and the Orchard will be shared.
A program handout along with garden renderings will be provided. The cost of this one-hour program is $5.00 for adults. It is a rain or shine event. Dress for the weather. Mansion porches/picnic shelters can be used if it rains. At tour stop sites, there will be chairs available.
