Date/Time
June 19, 2023
6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
where everyone can participate and find their inner peace.
Every Monday at 6pm through July 24th (no class July 3rd).
YOU DO NOT NEED TO COME TO ALL 6 CLASSES. DROP IN FOR ANY OF THE 6 CLASSES AND LEARN THAT WEEK’S FOCUS.
-Do you want to learn more about some of the basic yoga poses, what the key goals are for each pose, and how you can adapt the movement and shape of those poses to work with your unique body, range of motion and abilities in a zero judgement zone?
-Have you felt unsure about how to modify poses and breathing practices in safe and satisfying ways, so you can feel more confident about your practice?
-Would you like to know more about how to use props to support, adapt and possibly deepen your stretches and poses?
THEN THIS IS THE PERFECT CLASS FOR YOU!
-This is a friendly, welcoming class that is slow-moving, low-intensity, and is beginner-focused. Non-beginners are welcome as well, as we’ll talk about alternate approaches to your current postures.
-Lots of explanations will be given to get into poses and connect to your breathing, and props will be highly encouraged. Props like chairs, blocks, straps and blankets will all be demonstrated and available for use during class. There will be options to practice entirely in or supported by chairs for these classes.
-Please bring your own mat if you have one, and a bottle of water. We’ll have a few extras, but possibly not enough for everyone. Keep in mind some yoga mats are made with latex, in case you have an allergy or sensitivity.
-Questions and open dialogue are also HIGHLY encouraged! This is a laid-back class series where we’ll all learn and practice together. The goal is to have fun and to help you feel empowered in your practice-whether it’s your first class or your thousandth.
-The main-floor indoor meeting space at Wood County Society (where class will take place) is typically a comfortable low-70’s this time of year. Please dress in clothing that allows for your own comfortable stretch and movement at this temperature. This is not a “hot” class. There are no windows or mirrors in the space, adding to the privacy of the room. Please note the lights may be dimmed toward the end of class for resting time, and modern but slow-paced music will be played as we practice together.
THIS CLASS WILL RUN ON MONDAYS FROM JUNE 12TH-JULY 24TH (NO CLASS ON JULY 3RD). YOU DO NOT NEED TO ATTEND ALL 6 CLASSES TO JOIN US.
-Michelle is a certified Adaptive and Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher, and loves to help others find their personal power through yoga.
